Roller Coaster with No Station

We started 2008 as usual. A lot going on…from working on a large visitation program…to having a 2 day yard sale…to a youth rally on a Saturday night in Gastonia…to helping a pastor get his CDL license…to hospital visits…doctor visits for some of the elderly…to a skating trip with around 90 kids…not even getting into the big day at Lakewood Baptist with 66 kids singing their hearts out and the ministry sharing the ministry with this wonderful bunch of people. Then the roller coaster went around a turn I wasn’t expecting. On January, 31 around 8pm, I went in the bedroom and told Brenda to get dressed. I had to go to the hospital…now…I was having a heart attack. As my wife backed the car out of the yard, I told her that if I didn’t make it, I was ok. The hospital visit was an experience I will never forget. I was there from Thursday night till Monday around 11am. The doctors put a stint in my heart. While I was there, I met a lot of wonderful people. On Sunday, I wanted to have church in a waiting room at the end of the hall, but most of these people were too sick to attend. I must have had 150 visitors on Saturday and Sunday. A lot of prayers went up for me. I can’t tell each and every one of you my feelings toward you. Thank you for everything…I’m home…I’m recovering slower than I want to…but probably expected. I miss the kids but most have called me a lot.
I take off in the mornings...but I give out quickly. I will run when I feel I can make a five hour bus run, hopefully this Wednesday night. The kids are waiting on me. Pray that I get m y strength back. There are souls in the balance, little lives needing to be changed. A friend said I'm not going to tell you to slow down.just take better care of yourself. Another friend said I read your newsletter.tear it in half and do half as much.It will still be a lot. This roller coaster needed some maintenance. We will be back working with the kids quickly.

Mr. Ronnie

Recognition

At the Academy Christian School, Brook Morris, doing a social studies project, contacted Congressman John Spratt. She told of her going to the academy and how she did an article about John Spratt. He answered her letter by phone to encourage this child in her studies. Brook is growing up at a school that will build leaders with a true Christian background. Thanking Jesus for guiding this child daily. Thanking Congressman John Spratt for taking the time to help mold this child into an adult that will make a difference. (Open enrollment in March 2008. Prayers Answered

One morning as I ran to Crowder Mountain to pick up a bus kid, I started calling churches asking for special prayer for bus drivers/workers. At the free yard sale at Temple Baptist several weeks back, I received a call from a man, Bruce who told me that his wife receives the newsletter in the mail and he was reading where we needed bus drivers. Bruce said he could do this. He drives busses in Charlotte, NC daily. We are gearing up for Bruce to drive in the Rock Hill area. He will cross Rock Hill and bring 40 to 50 children to church. Bruce Toney said I just want to be a part. Pray about taking a turn riding with Bruce. We need riders to keep order on the bus. I am still praying for drivers and workers.
A lady called to check on me...as we spoke, she reminded me of Exodus 18:1-26, how Moses needed to delegate his ministry out to his workers, how if he was going to endure Moses needed to let his people take more responsibility of the ministry. Kids for Jesus has a staff second to no other. Pray for me as I share with my staff the vision God has given me. Please keep praying for Workers/Drivers to handle the load. With two buses running we will still be leaving children behind. God supplies our needs. We need Christians that will stand in a gap wider then York County and say I want to make a difference. Come be a part on Sunday evenings. Contact Kids for Jesus staff/Mr. Ronnie
