Limiting God…Following God
I wanted to set limits on the numbers at Temple Baptist Church…Somewhere around 25 children/adults. Let the church see how to handle the numbers. Well, starting 7 weeks ago with 35…Last Sunday 56 on the bus. I cut my visiting and limiting it but the children find the children. The bus was 4 passengers from maxed. ABC movers donated classrooms to set up for Sunday School rooms, but we went to the county about what has to happen…The man in charge told of regulations, securities and water run-off. We need someone that will get on board and help with this project. The church is growing at a rate faster than we have room. Pray God’s will…Last Sunday there were 100+ in Sunday School. We can always leave them on the bus and teach them Sunday school lessons. Whatever it takes. Time is running out…Limiting God…Following God.
Skating Trip…
Kids for Jesus/Temple Baptist promised the children that if we broke 40 in the children’s department that we would go to skate. There were 77 that skated and quite a few chaperons there. A lady named Sharon and her husband Doug paid the bill for the skaters. This lady celebrated her birthday serving the kids pizza and drinks she provided. A lot of these children had never even seen Kates Skating Ring. This lady never boasts about what she does for the children. That night was special. She could have been anywhere on her birthday, but that night she was a servant serving the children. Special thank you from the kids.
Lakewood…Runs like a Clock
Last week the count from Saturday thru Tuesday night 210 children and adults had been to church functions on one bus. The number would have been higher but Lakewood had a water break and church was cancelled on Wednesday. God knew I needed a break. One teen as I told her we weren’t running on Wednesday told me that she just didn’t need to miss church on Wednesday. Because of the time schedule at Lakewood, 6:30-7:30, most churches start at 7pm. I couldn’t just go somewhere else. Plus I would need to let a church know I was coming. When we arrive on Wednesday the bus is always at max. Some children that had just started…there mom called and wanted a suggestion where her boys could go last Wednesday. I told her East View Baptist because of where she lives. There’s not enough paper to write where I could have sent her. I am involved with so many churches. Last Sunday night we were back on track at Lakewood. With Kids for Jesus Staff/Lakewood Staff working together, the children are learning that there’s a life worth living…Thru Jesus we can be a winner. Growing Pains… Jeremy Gregory and his lovely wife started a class for 18 years old thru adults. The classroom was full last Sunday night. Come hear the word of God sent thru Jeremy on Sunday nights
No Money…Just Me
I drove up at my home yesterday and a man was standing in front of my house. He needed to talk to me about my newsletter; the part about donating to the ministry. He told of how he was out of work, how he had no money. But he offered himself for whatever he could do to help keep the ole bus running. He is willing to help do maintenance on the bus…shortly busses. I will pick his children up this Wednesday to go to church. I will continue putting the donation letter in for a while. Your donations turn the wheels.
Unexpected
Ali comes with us every other week to church. Ali and her mom spend time together on the weeks she isn’t riding. Last week she was to be off…She told me she got on her mom’s nerves. The mother let her come with us. I love this precious family.
Visitation
I was at the Hospital with a dad of a boy and girl that ride the bus. This dad had an alcohol addiction. Thomas admits he needs help. Working with Pastor Arnie at New Birth and Pastor Dave at Midtown he will receive the attention he needs to get his life on track. Thomas was in a semi private room at the Hospital. The other guy looked familiar. He told of how his children had ridden the bus also. This man had been shot. This man loves his children very much. Please pray for these guys.
