Get Out of the Way…

Richard Suttle passed the CDL test with flying colors.  He prayed God; I want to be a safe driver for the children.  We stood in the DMV finishing the paper work and the examiner wiped away a tear listening to the excitement of what would happen in so many children’s lives.  Richard and his lovely wife Jennifer will command the Bus Ministry on Sunday mornings at Temple Baptist Church.  This will free me up to do Pastorial work at Temple.

Preparing for Church

A teenager called me at 9:20am last Wednesday to find out what time the bus would be in her area…I told her that being toward the end of the route; it would be around 6pm.  She told me that she was getting ready then (9:20am).

Tuesday Night Mission Work…

Faith Christian Ministries came on board thru Midtown Ministries.  Pastor Jimmy Alexander is tough on the kids when it comes to discipline.  It’s yes sir, no sir….sit up straight…you will respect the Ladies…you will dress properly….One young lady told me with fire in her eyes that she wouldn’t be back.  I told her that if she would listen to him, as she gets older, she would know what to say and how to act when she applies herself in life situations.  The Pastor is firm, but fair.  He loves these kids.  I haven’t lost any children in the past month.  The number continues to grow.  Teaching about Jesus and learning to live in the world around us.

Wednesday Nights…Lakewood Baptist

The number of kids keeps growing and the bus is still the same size.  Because of Richard on swing shift he can’t drive on Wednesday nights.  I need a driver for a short run on Wednesday.

Update…

  • Churches calling about Vacation Bible School this summer.  Looking forward to running
    •  First Baptist McConnells (June)
    • Temple Baptist Celriver Road (June)
    • Lakewood Baptist (June)

Churches are calling about July and August.

  • His Laboring Few Christian Bikers Ministry borrowed the tent, stage and sound equipment.  Had Church at Red and Deborah Key’s home.   10 bikers saved and 8 rededications of faith.
  • Taking the City Ministries borrowed the tent and stage for a youth rally this past weekend.  We set it up last Friday.  Surely a great time in the Lord.
  • Went to a church in Chester and shared the Bus Story.  The Kids for Jesus Choir sang.  Two teens got saved.
  • Fifth Sunday night singing at First Baptist, McConnells.  Took the choir and had a good time singing.  Just sharing with a church that’s growing in Jesus’ name.  Some of the kids that ride form the York area will attend their Vacation Bible School and are very excited.
  • Had a movie night with the children at Temple Baptist…some watched the movie…some talked and cut up but all of them had a good time.  With kids, expect the unexpected.
